Interesting material, but I'm not sure it works well as a biography. That's disappointing, because this was one of my most anticipated books since it's publication date.

The book is incredibly biased and all the information given about Rogers is positive. I also had some qualms about the writing style. I listened to the audiobook version of this and there's an interview with the author at the end. Apparently, The Good Neighbor is King's first attempt at a full book and it shows. I think the length could have been shortened quite a bit if King had removed some of the repetitive phrases and information. An overall mediocre book. 3/5 stars

Bonus points for the fact that LeVar Burton narrates the audiobook. It's what kept me going.

I honestly don't remember anything about this other than being feeling wrapped up in a voice hug by LeVar Burton for a few hours. 10/10 would not pay attention again.

There are many books that I have loved and enjoyed reading. After finishing this one, I definitely felt that way. But I am also glad, on a deeper level, that I read it, and I feel like I have gained much more than an excellent reading experience.

A wonderful biography that would have benefitted from a little trimming and tightening. The audiobook version, narrated by Lavar Burton, made me feel like my childhood had come full circle. But you don't have to take my word for it!

This obviously took me awhile to finish, but the last 2/3 went quickly.

What a good man. We need more people like him. We could stand to be more like him.
