I do love these books in this series, I always have, but I wonder how long the "will-she-won't-she" love triangle is going to continue. I think that story line is wearing a little thin at this point, clearly she doesn't want to be with Ranger or she would have at this point. She so strongly favors Morelli, it makes the love triangle awfully lopsided.
Well, crap. Now I've caught up with the series. What audio books am I going to listen to in my car that could possibly fit as well???
This was a little darker than previous SP entries what with the international espionage and radioactive chemicals in ventilation systems, but still entertaining in terms of the pack of semi-feral chihuahuas and Briggs. What I just don't get is the hold Morelli has over her. He's rather a jerk, has zero respect for her as anything other than a sex object and treats her like property....which makes me think I'm overthinking this literary-movie-theater-popcorn thing.

Well, it wasn't terrible....but it felt like the same story I have read 5 or 6 times. I really love the characters but it has this "grinding out another one" kinda feeling. I suppose, for me, it has run its course. At some point, the story has to move forward. Stephanie needs to choose which man she wants to be with, she needs to turn 40, she needs to stop being such a hot mess....the story goes forward or dies.... Right now the story just limps along....blah.
I can't help it - I think these books are so fun!
My mother is an avid reader of the Janet Evanovich series and started reading them almost 14 years ago. She has really enjoyed them as did I for a while. Yet something strange happened after this novel, Mum finished the last page and said “I don’t want to read anymore Stephanie Plum, nothing ever happens.” I was surprised Mum has always enjoyed these books. So I decided to see what was happening in the world in Stephanie Plum.
Once again Plum is trying to collar a skip, once again she fails miserably in her attempts, once again she has Lulu as sidekick, once again her Grandmother is causing chaos, once again things are being blown up, once again Morelli is a sex crazed teenager, once again Ranger is all babe and once again Plum cannot make a decision.
The humour in this book was better but it was all Grandma. To be honest I think I would have preferred to read the battle between the two Grandmas.
There needs to be something added to this book to mix it up or it is time to end the series and let it go.
Besides I would like to refer Janet Evanovich to chapter 12 of this book and in Plum’s own words “I’d done this drill too many times. I was tired of it.’ If your main character is saying it, then your readers are saying the same thing.

This was one of the better Stephanie Plum novels...it had me laughing and smiling throughout the book. Grandma Mazur had a fantastic storyline in this one. I also enjoyed that Stephanie spent most of the book working on something serious with Ranger. The only reason I didn't give the story more stars is that fact that the back and forth with Ranger and Morelli is getting old. Stephanie needs to make a choice and decide what she wants.
This far in, you know what you're getting with these.
Typical Stephanie Plum. If you like the books and aren't sick of them, worth a read.
