This is a screwball comedy of an upper crust family in England, it appears, having some issues on Thanksgiving day. It was a funny book.

My parents are visiting and my dad read this to everyone as a group last night since we won't be together for dinner. He is an old country boy and he had some fun with this book. He put on his version of a hoity-toity voice and read the hijinks that ensued. We were all laughing as a family.

The family gets their Thanksgiving dinner stuck in the dumbwaiter and trying to eat this meal is a real trial.

I didn't think the art was that great, but it felt old, like the original form the late 1800's. The word choice and the characters were a bright spot. This book had that magic choice of really great words that simply make me happy. I do love when people can put together great words. It really does make magic. I feel like words get stuck inside me and only every once in a while do they finally flow free and abundant. I long to be able to craft joyous words for people.

This is a different kind of story that I have read and it has humor. That alone makes me happy. It is not the same old Thanksgiving tale. So I rated this highly.

The kids enjoyed the community and the telling of the story. They both marked it high - the niece giving it 4 stars and the nephew 5 stars. I don't know if it was the performance, but it came out of the material so yes. This was fun.
