This is one of my most favorite books I’ve read recently. I will be thinning about it for a while.

I read this book in a day. I just couldn’t stop. Is the overall ending predictable and does the author bash you over the head with what Nora learned? Yes. But nothing wrong with feeling good. Not every book has to be both life changing and a new form of its art.

The plot wasn’t what I was expecting (I went in without knowing what it was about) but it was really good! It started off slow and I almost DNF’d but glad I kept going through. It is predictable but the character growth is exciting to watch. The author did a perfect job at explaining Nora’s depression. As someone with depression it’s often hard to explain or express the deep feeling of loneliness and self hate.

The main character’s story was about suicide and the will to live, and when I first started reading this, I had just gotten out of the hospital because of acting on those thoughts as she struggles with. I’ve tried to read it multiple times since, but it brings up too many painful memories. I’d love to finish reading it someday. It just might take me a while before that can be possible.

Sad stuff.

This is a fantastic read. It’s a perfect life affirming dramedy that tiptoes in the fantastical.

This book has such an interesting premise - a Library where you can read all of your alternate lives.

I personally found the writing style a bit too 'simple' - much like Coelho's The Alchemist, it is clearly written as a self-help book under a superficial story. The philosophy that was discussed also didn't resonate with my particular brand of depression - but it was still interesting to read through the lens of someone with different struggles to me.

However, this was such an easy read and one that definitely could help someone reading it at the right time - if you are paralysed by regrets about your life, for example, this book is definitely worth a read. I read it at a time when I've been feeling very unsure about my future, at the recommendation of a friend - and I can see how it would help some people in that scenario, but I don't feel I got as much out of it as some people did.

Overall, really enjoyed this book! Definitely a quick easy one that anyone feeling a bit lost can try.
