Wildly addictive, but definitely a book I had to read in small sections. Very heavy on the visual details and philosophical comparisons, not to mention the overall ”seeking the meaning of life” theme… made for an incredible, but esoteric, read.

A lesson in finding hope within despair, and also embracing the many worlds theory in physics.

I understand why this book is popular, but it just wasn't for me. The writing sometimes waxed poetic in a way that felt forced to me. I knew how it would end within the first few pages. The overall message is important, but I couldn't connect with the main character and well, this book is all about her.

This book had a really good premise and the beginning was fantastic, but the rest of the book didn't really hook me in after the compilation bit. It just felt...I don't know I guess lost? And the resolution to the mystery of what was happening to the library was so obvious and boring. I don't know, this book had such a cool premise and I'm just left really disappointed. Overall, great prose, okay story, great characters. 3.5

This book was clearly written by a person who had navigated intense depression, anxiety, and thoughts of suicide. It was just so genuine-- so on the nose, coming from someone who *has* been there at one point in her life.
Even the part about Volts, oh my god! I lost a cat the same way. Tears. :')
Anyway, It was extremely gratifying to listen to this story and watch the protagonist pull herself up into a new frame of mind, through her adventures and travels. Would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to explore grief, loss, "what ifs," or to experience one person's clawing and scraping her way out of depression.

I gave this book 4 stars because it made me reflect on my own life — I wasn’t expecting it to.
However, the book itself is a bit cliche. I think the concept of the book is wonderful, the writing style could just be stronger.

I thought this book was fine. A bit predictable and a touch preachy. Otherwise, it was a fun perspective on live and the constant wonder of "what if".
