Heartbreaking and compelling and beautiful. I couldn’t stop reading but was scared to finish too quickly; I wanted to savor these characters. Also a good reminder that the intersection between disease and oppression and not unique to 2020, it’s been happening forever.

This book was quite gutting, but very informative about the AIDS crisis in Chicago.

It felt like this book lingered on some parts for a really long time and was very repetitive and then very important plot points were rushed over quickly. Definitely a pacing issue. I found Yale a much more developed and interesting character than Fiona. I found myself dreading when it would switch back to 2015. There were a lot of characters and I was constantly trying to remember who was who. And I found the part about Nora kind of random and unnecessary and almost a rip off of rose from titanic. Overall I loved Yale’s part of the story and found it emotionally devastating and could’ve done without some of the other bits.

This book was both touching and educational. At first, I worried I'd have trouble keeping all the characters straight, but they're all so unique and well-rounded that it wasn't an issue. The multiple timelines worked well and only added more depth the already present emotions. I want to give Yale a big hug, but I'll have to settle on just adding this book to my personal library.

This book destroyed me in ways I didn't know were possible. Beautifully written and absolutely tragic. I'm on suicide watch now !!!
