"Savage Lover" by Sophie Lark took me on a ride, but I'll be honest – it's my least favorite of the series so far, earning a solid 4 stars. The contemporary romance is loaded with fast and furious vibes, especially with all the car talk that brings a unique flavor to the narrative.
While the chemistry between Camille and Nero is evident, their story felt less developed compared to the earlier books in the series. It's a friends-to-lovers tale with a twist of mafia elements, but it didn't hit the same high notes for me. The heist scenes, though promising in concept, could have been more fleshed out. They felt like interesting material but ended up being only a small part of the overall story.
One aspect that left me hanging was the lack of closure regarding Camille's family. I would have loved to delve deeper into that storyline, but it remained a big question mark throughout. Additionally, the book had a somewhat 'high school' feel despite the characters being in their early twenties.
On the upside, "Savage Lover" still carries Sophie Lark's signature style, and while it may not have resonated with me as strongly as the previous installments, it offers a decent dose of contemporary romance with a unique twist. If you're a fan of friends-to-lovers tales with a touch of mafia flair and don't mind a bit of high-school-esque drama, this one might still be worth a shot.

I expected more out of Nero’s story. I just felt like the romance was rushed. It seemed like it went from, I don’t really care about you to being in love, from one day to the next.
