Wow, where do I even begin? I originally watched the Netflix series of this show quite recently and was immediately enchanted by Beth Harmon and everything about this story, so I knew I had to pick up the book. Right off the bat, this book pulled me in and I didn't want to put it down. Everything about the writing and the characters is impeccable and it's easily a new favorite book. I see myself enjoying this short, incredible novel again and again for many years to come.

I had watched the series before reading this. There were some parts of the book that I didn't fully understand why they were there. For example, the main character sleeps with 3 different people and the response in each case is ~blah~. I just didn't really get what it was adding to the story. 

Overall I did really enjoy this book.
