My Thoughts On: Buffy the Vampire #12

1. Yes, Anya to the rescue! I had a feeling that was Anya, and I'm happy to see her (even if she is wearing a white suit very impractical for fighting bad guys).

2. Cordelia works at a fast food place centered around fish? In an uniform? I have so many questions. Cordelia works? Sunnydale has a restaurant like this? People would eat here?

3. I really love this series' interpretation of Cordelia, who begins as a slightly vapid teenager but has been revealed to have more layers and aspirations for her life. I am always here for Cordelia's character development.

4. "This town doesn't need a hero, it just needs all of us to be better." Go Cordelia! You tell it like it is!

5. Thank you, Anya, for confirming to our Scoobies that Buffy is indeed not dead. We knew that because we've also been reading Hellmouth, but I'm glad our friends now know.

6. This might be the best explanation of the Powers That Be that either Buffy or Angel has ever given. "The powers that be see everything... but they can't actually do anything." "But--" "It's down to each of us to be our best selves i the place we're meant to be..."

7. Is this foreshadowing to Cordelia eventually moving to L.A. and joining our Angel crew? Because I'm into that! In fact, I sort of miss her energy in that series right now.

8. Honestly, this is my worst nightmare: a bunch of men banging their heads against the glass of a restaurant I'm in in and shouting, "Get out of my way!" because they're under a spell.

9. Anya hides her weapons/artifacts in the weird fast food tuna restaurant? Oh, Anya, why?

10. Okay, I obviously didn't pace myself during this review because I forgot I needed to talk about everything else at the end. So... The scene where Xander sacrifices himself for Willow is devastating, the scene with Eric and Joyce is so sad, and I'm happy to see the bat creature again! There! Done!

Yes, hello, I need more Anya in my life even though I still hate the way David Lopez draws faces!!! I will say, I didn't mind several faces in this issue, so either I'm getting used to it or it's just some of the faces... idk why I feel so strongly about this!

Ok see that was a much better issue. Finally getting some of the better character interactions I was craving and everyone seems to make at least some sense. Still lacking a bit but overall a much better issue.
