Unfortunately, I am not a fan of the major plot conflict being miscommunication. While, I enjoyed the male love interest Alex Nilsen, I found our main character, Poppy Wright to be a little annoying at times with her lack of thoughts and consideration towards the relationship. The romance itself was cute and bubbly, especially the last few pages. The first 200 pages felt very repetitious with the vacations and it confused me sometimes with the back-to-back timelines between the past and present. The writing itself was pretty easy to read and I was engaged in where the couple were headed. However, I definitely would not recommend this book to someone that dislikes the miscommunication trope as heavily as I do.

Utterly amazing and utterly heartbreaking. Emily Henry’s novels make me believe in love… just not for me.

Content warnings: copious drinking, some drug use, parental abandonment/depression/grief, anxiety, pregnancy scare

This book had me smiling and laughing out loud! I loved the banter between Alex and Poppy, and the flashbacks to their previous vacations. I could see a lot of myself in both characters which was nice!

I fell in love within the first 5 pages and have marked sooo many lines.
I loved that Henry has so many references of how awful Ohio is through Poppy’s character; as a fellow Michigander and midwesterner, we all talk crap about Ohio 😂

I didn’t know until recently that Henry and I share an Alma Mater, Hope College! She was a senior when I was a freshman which is so cool to think about and love the book that much more 🥹😍

I loved every second of this book, honestly I can’t think of anything I didn’t like or felt was missing. I’m curious though to see what’s different in the UK version, You and Me on Vacation, and which version I would like best. 10/10 perfect summer read

This was not my favorite book. I found myself skimming through the chapters. It was lent until around chapter 23 I felt like I was really interested.

 “I don't think I knew I was lonely until I met you.” 💛

a cute friends to lovers romance💕 (even though i rotted more for them becoming friends again than to be lovers lol)

The book also dives into more topics such as the death of a parent and the impact it can have on your life, the feeling of not knowing if you belong where you are / where you belong and  what is it that YOU want. ❤️‍🩹

Some parts are quite emotional as much as they are inspiring. You can run and go away but you can't never really run from your life and your issues. ❤️

It's also pleasant to see main characters that are not perfect (even thought they are conventionally attractive) but that are aware of their flaws and try to be better (but sometimes fail). 💌

a good read, would recommended.✨️
