Not for me. There’s a sink hole, there’s neighborhood kid bullying and hierarchy, there’s a missing dog, then a missing child, and then there are rumors that spread so rapidly and without causation that lead to mob mentality and attacking an innocent family.

Very smart and interesting story. Similar themes to Shirley Jackson but the treatment is more contemporary. Looking forward to trying other works by this author.

I really don't even know how to do a review on this. I'm a huge thriller/horror girlie. It's pretty much all I read. This is a thriller but unlike anything I have read in a long time. It started off a bit slow but kind of picked up as it went. It's not a book with a big fat twist. It's just a book with a conclusion and not an overly surprising one but it doesn't need to be
