in comparison to Harwicz’s Die, My Love, a lot less happens in Feebleminded. doesn’t make it any less unhinged though. the ending was simultaneously shocking and expected, and the protagonist has the same unhinged and crazy nature as the previous protagonist. but what is really interesting is the portrayal of the grown up child of even more unhinged adults, linking to the themes of pregnancy and motherhood. the protagonist’s hatred of motherhood is almost sad as the reader realises how fucked up her own childhood was. overall, not as unhinged as it could be, but given that there are allusions to three-way inter generational  lesbian incestual activity, you can make your own decisions.
