I love Dave Barry, but I did not love this book. The characters were one dimensional. The story was scattered. By the end, I was just waiting for it to be over.

Deeply entertaining, reminds me of Bill Bryson, if he were to write a book à la Naked Gun. The airport scenes clearly show this books is from the 90s.

A wacky ensemble adventure kind of like Elmore Leonard light. The movie was pretty terrible, and lost a lot of Barry's wit, giving in to the slapsticky tendencies that lie under the surface instead.

I'm already a Dave Barry fan. I picked this book up because I am reading through my local library's shelves alphabetically. I liked the complicated plot which toyed with being a farce. This was a fast read, fun and interesting. I did get a little confused with all of the characters. I wish that Mr. Barry described them just a bit more fully so I could keep them straight. I find that the faster paced a book is, (and this one is fast paced) the harder it is to keep track of characters. Maybe it's me. Anyway. Four stars because when I got done I wished I had written it. Not five -- that's for life-changing classics.

I laughed 'til I cried! The whole thing with the frog...hilarious! Definitely an adult book - Barry even tells you in the preface that the characters used Adult Languange even though he didn't want them to :) A great laugh for those who love Dave Barry.
