This one was a serious low point in the series.

Where did the characters from the Glimmer arc go? Here they're just sucking up endless amounts of shit as if it is their job.

Also, I'm glad Lucy said what she said about the gargoyles, because I was saying that from the outset - I think I even put it in a status update - so it was really pissing me off that everyone seemed to be missing the obvious. He's their ruler. It is his job to do everything he can to protect them. If he stood by and just watched the whole species die, it would have been the worst dereliction of duty imaginable.

But yeah, this book was annoying.

I cannot put this series down. The author has an amazing way with words and you literally get sucked in.

Oof! That ending! I guess I should have seen it coming. Can't wait for the next book.

Heather G. Harris captivates readers in "Betrayal of the Court," the newest addition to The Other Realm series. Harris's tale is a testament to her masterful storytelling, with a relentless pace, unexpected twists, and jaw-dropping moments that will leave readers amazed.

Jinx, the series’ protagonist, experiences remarkable growth and deeper connections, particularly with Emory. Despite court politics, Jinx and Emory's love and commitment remain steadfast. They are the guiding stars in each other’s lives, enabling them to triumph over countless obstacles.

Harris’s portrayal of friendships and the concept of found family strikes a resonant chord. Jinx has gone from being a solitary human to a formidable magical force with a network of allies who care for their world. Suspense permeates the story, accompanied by Harris’s trademark humor, as the stakes soar and the plot hurtles forward. There’s mystery, action, and even a dash of stuck-up dragons. Exploring the dragon court proves to be a delight, and the shocking ending elicits genuine gasps. Anticipation for the next book becomes unbearable—more so than ever before.

I love Heather’s books. You never feel like you’re reading and they just carry you through. I love the banter in her books. Jinx is investigating a series of murders whilst other issues are going on in the dragon court. This one felt like it had a bit of a darker thread running through it which culminated at the end with a bit of cliffhanger; so I’m now very impatiently waiting for the next book.

This one was a bit difficult to read/get into since it discussed sexual assault quite a bit. I did very much enjoy the ending and what consequences that will bring, though!

Heather G Harris has has mastered the art writing a fast-paced, fun and feel-good Urban Fantasy. The writing is excellent, and as with her previous books, I can't wait to read the the next! I'll admit, I've been saving the "Court" books for when they were all out on Audio, but I just couldn't wait any longer (and avoid spoilers). Of course, it was just delightful to get reacquainted with Jinx, Emory, Gato and everyone else.

In this book, Jinx is trying to find out who is bludgeoning awful people to death in the Other realm. Is it really murder if everyone is happy they're gone? Jinx is still dealing with politics of the Dragon court and Emory is facing charges for the thing with the Gargoyles. Anything more is a spoiler. The ending, even though I saw it coming, made me gasp in shock. Starting the last book now...

An excellent book as usual. The characters are complex and realistic even though they live in this fantasy world. There is a lot going on in this book. There’s murders, demon influence, theft, dragon court, wedding planning and a new hellhound puppy. The murder and theft investigations wrap up quickly though without seeming to be too good to be true.

No spoilers but this book is best read after reading all of the books from both series. There are things mentioned that occurred in other books. It ends on a cliffhanger but the next book is coming soon.
