this should be a poetry collection. it is in many ways poetry and that’s not the style i usually prefer (there are only like 5 poets i enjoy). this also means lack of comprehensive story which is harder for me to resonate with. plenty of great prose (plenty that wanes on too pretentious), but ultimately not for me. i get why people are obsessed, i just won’t be one of them.

this was such an interesting read. the prose was lyrical and captivating yet a tongue of sorrow under it all.
