This is literally about the main Marvel heroes but in the past.

It was well written due to it being Neil Gaimen who wrote it.

This was a teenage favorite of mine, some 15 years ago. There is a LOT of fanart of Virginia Dare somewhere out there. I was nervous to reread, because the biggest thing I remembered was the Rojhaz plot and that didn’t age well. But I’m incredibly glad I did. I wish this hadn’t been tied into the main Marvel universe at all and functioned as its own What If-style story, but nonetheless this book is glowing with creativity. I’m particularly fond of Javier’s School and the Fantastick.

the integration of the story into the setting here is wonderful. I love each and every one of these colonial-era versions of the Marvel characters (Except Rohjaz. fucking awful). Him and the whole use of Roanoke in general is kind of tacky and bad. Really I just wish we got to spend more time with these characters and this world, and that it didn't have the whole
time travel plot line.
Shame the whole thing kinda fell flat in the end considering the potential it had
