Fast-paced, fun action --- an improvement from last arc.

1 star is too high for this set. Rick Remender must hate Cap. All he has done during his run is tear him down. When he couldnt tear him down any further, he took away his serum. Really so now we are going to have another "new" Cap? When is Marvel going to realize that trick does not work?!?!

Disappointing. The main story seemed rushed. The side story of Jet trying to figuring how to live in her new world was pretty good though. The Mind Bubble and the Iron Nail was just kind of annoying. And yet if this had been setup more clearly it might have been interesting. The writing and art itself was okay at least.

People really hate Rememder's run on Cap and I don't know why. Yes, it's very different from Brubaker's run, but it's still true to Cap's character. In this volume we really see Cap get torn apart emotionally, which allows Remender to really get down to the emotional stakes of what happened in Dimension Z. Instead of being a primarily physical threat, this story is an emotional threat. I loved the character of Dr. Mindbubble, a funny, LSD infused baddy. I just wish he had been around a little longer. There's a little more exploration of Jet Black but she still feels underdeveloped and background. Can't wait to read the last volume and see how Remender wraps up the story of Steve Rogers as Cap.

This volume is the weakest in this run of Captain America. Things come out of nowhere and the villains are weak. Dialogue is choppy and it was tough to get through.

The thing I liked the most about it was the last issue in this volume which ages Cap, -and has a very fitting moment for Cap. Though if you look at it any farther and remember the rest of the volume that surrounds it, the fun is drained from it.

Wouldn’t recommend.

Still don't love the villains, but the emotional arc is still strong, and I'm glad to finally know how Cap an old man.

So disappointing - everything since the Heroic Age re-numbering has been disappointing. A real shame.

Exactly what I wanted out of "the new Captain America", although I have this annoying feeling that Rick Remender is constantly trying to dodge the (actually relatively reasonable) points the villains make about Rogers as Captain America. Dr. Mindbubble is exactly the kind of bonkers villain that belongs in Captain America comics.

Apparently people really don't like any change, this book was great and really beautifully drawn and (especially) colored.
