What a way to write a sequel! I liked this one so much better than the first book, mainly because things are more clear in this one, and I'm also getting the hang of this shadowhunter business. The best thing about this series is the depth of characters, even the side ones. Whenever I read a book or series, if I can't get myself involved with the characters, I stop caring about it regardless of how good it is story wise. The characters in this series are closest to the way J K Rowling wrote her characters, each having a unique personality and their good and bad sides. I don't like superficial characters like we normally see in YA's. Human beings are complex creatures and they cannot and should not act the same way all the time.
This was a well paced book with a nice plot. Romance played bigger part in this one, quite expectedly. I have deliberately kept myself from getting involved in the love triangle because of a not-so-recent heartbreak I got from another book. It is also one my rules to never judge a book by how the ships are handled in it. Even so, I'm very much involved in Henry and Charlotte's relationship, as they remind me a lot of my ultimate otp Ron/Hermione and I was really glad to see their own sub plot in this book. But I cannot not comment on the main three characters. I'm fine with whoever Tessa ends up with, but I'm more inclined towards Will and Tessa. Though with Jem dying, I can't see them not ending together in the end. But a good thing about this book is that the writer did not degrade any of the character to make a certain ship happen. *someone* could learn a lesson from her.
Loved this book and I'm glad this series is living up to its name.

That awkward moment when you don't know if you ship Will/Tessa or Jem/Tessa.

i think that the book before this. clockwork angle , was just an amazing way to help us mortal instrament series phanatics put together all of the things that made us confused in city of fallen angels. i think in my opinion that cassandra clare is one of the best writers in the world. i love her characters and the was she writes. i think that all of the things that i love in a book . i have never needed to wait for a book longer then at least a week. and this past few months have just killed me, it is so hard for me to find reading material while i wait for her new books to come out, i still dailey look through the books over and over again putting things together. i love the way stepeny meyer writes and i love, love, love the twilight series. but i think even though i love, love, love the twilight series. i love.love, love, love . nt just the mortal instument series, but every, book that cassandra clare has ever writen. and i thnk when the new books come out i will re-read her books, to make sure i dont forget anything. i love cassandra clare books more than any book i have ever read in my whole life.
i will never love any authors books more.
