Fantastic. Really didn't want to put it down, the relationships between the characters are really well written.

Half tempted to take a half star for Tessa choosing Jem…
Half tempted to take a half star for Tessa choosing Jem…
No book manages to devastate me quite as much as this one. Clearly I'm a masochist because why do I keep coming back to Will's confession scene? Do I enjoy misery? Apparently.
Why was there a weird love triangle that took up majority of the book?
Four stars. Another action packed book in this steampunk series.

One of the best interlude books I've read. I love Will. I really do. Although he fully realized his feelings for Tessa a little late... Jem is wonderful but I see Tessa more with Will. One thing that does bother me is how unrealistic it is to have two swoon worthy boys fall for a girl just because she is the only girl they have really come to know who is nice. (ie not Jessamine) Other than that it was good. And I totally think Tessa is part shadow hunter.
And with this, my redemption arc for having snobbed the Shadowhunters series up until now is complete.
Actually, I still don't care that much about the other trilogy. And I fully accept the fact that also in The Infernal Devices the plot is not as important as I usually like it to be. It's a very, very strong character driven story, but unlike it often happens, that I really don't care for the characters and wish to see more of the lore behind them and push the story forward, I'm so invested in this romance I read this book basically in one sitting.
The patterns which in the first book were so similar to the original trilogy, now developed in independent, new sets of relationships and characters. I love all of them, the good and the bad (except for Mortmain who was, unfortunately, felt as a big absence of this book, but I trust he will finally come out in the end), and finally I don't want to puke reading a romance this complicated. On the contrary, I'm totally here for it and I'm struggling to take on my mundane duties instead of reading.
