Is this a perfect book? No.
Is this a 5-star book? For me, yes.
I LOVED this book, and I think it is some of Sanderson's best work.
Sanderson's talent for worldbuilding really shines here as he creates a weird and unique world, but one that is so easy to visualize and get immersed in. The world of Komashi is one of my favorites and I really hope we see it again.
The characters here are great as well. Yumi and Nikaro are complex and compelling and their arcs are incredibly satisfying. Their relationship and journeys, I think, create one of the tightest emotional core that Sanderson has written to date. The supporting cast is a bit flatter but so so so memorable.
There are problems that I have with the book. Namely, I think the ending relies a bit too heavily on exposition. However, I am willing to overlook the problems because the core of the book is so compelling and beautiful.
This book is a must-read for Sanderson fans, but I would recommend it to anyone.
