Fascinating look at how Go Ask Alice and Jay’s Journal influenced United States culture at large. I’m glad Alden’s actual story could finally be told. The author does a lot to expose Sparks’s actions without ascribing any motivation to her, allowing the reader to make their own judgment on why she did the things she did. The tone was a little off-putting at the beginning (a little too conversational maybe?), but it grew on me.
