I've been a fan of Huda's work for years, and it's always excellent. She's undeniably talented, and her humor is always spot on. This book is a fantastic story of figuring out who you are and how you fit into the world. From a representation standpoint, it's exactly what I was looking for. To be seen, not only as a Muslim woman, but as a someone who's struggled with their identity and where they fit.

I really enjoyed the story told here, and how relatable it is, while also being hilarious! I truly loved the sister dynamics, as well as some of the more emotional scenes, specifically the ones with her mom. As usual, I highly recommend Huda's books, so don't miss this one when it releases!

I received an arc of this title from PenguinTeen in exchange for an honest review.

A short but sweet and often insightful glimpse into the experience of going to high school as a visibly Muslim girl. Filled with all the existential angst that being a teenager brings with it, this comic contrasts the relatable experience of figuring yourself out with the very real threat and shame that comes with discrimination. While this is ostensibly fictional, it is sobering to know that many kids experience what Huda does.

A nicely done telling of one girl's coming-of-age struggles. Moving to a school where she no longer sticks out, Huda realizes that there are other problems that come with blending in. She tries to figure out who she is, what she stands for, and how to stand up for herself (all pretty universal experiences), but it all takes place with the backdrop of casual bigotry. So this is both highly relatable, and also eye-opening.
