"In the permanent place of the dead, there were no angels, no bright lights or family members waiting in the wings. He died in the blackness of regret and error, tumbling through Sheol."

World War II experimentation upon the Jews and Romani. The Nazi's created a super human to obliterate the population that was abhored. What they were not expecting was one of the biggest mistakes they could have possibly made. Their genetic alteration became what they feared and death is now upon them as revenge is seeked from the monster they created. From the war to present day, it returns over and over to collect their souls.

As many lives connect, the whispers are heard, dark secrets are revealed, and lives are changed forever. The bloodlines are still strong and the genetic alterations are still alive within. The gypsy hears the calling of the whispers and returns once again to answer the call.

The darkness that lies within this horrifying tale is unparalled occurrences of human atrocities. The evilness of the underbelly of Nazi experimentation and the hate they held for the Jews and Romani. Moving forward to modern day, it delves into the evilness that can lie within the human heart within a family. Spousal and child abuse, alcoholism, and dark secrets surfacing from a long suffered past.

Elements of science, history, societal lifestyles, and war torn minds. Striking differences between evil and goodness, the ability to love and the ability to hate, prejudice against or choosing to embrace dissimilarities.

A menacing presence that will haunt your nightmares!

"I’m in your head. I will be in your house. And I will send you falling into a deep, dark, tight hole. I will snare you, little rabbit, or bury you where you live."

Deeply dark and foreboding, the horrors lie within this dreadful and haunting tale of terror!

Imagine a world where the experiments that happened in nazi concentration camps went beyond the atrocities we read about in text books and memoirs.
Human experiments so vile that you've only seen them in horror movies or read about them in books.

That's the world Patton created within these pages.
Part historical fiction, part science fiction, wholly horrifying.
When I FINALLY picked this book up, I could not put it down.
It truly reads like an action packed suspenseful horror movie. Generations of family secrets unfold as the pages turn.
Highly recommend!

Thank you to JT Patton for the gifted copy in exchange for a review.

Whispers of a gypsy by J.T. Patten was a fast paced, well written with dark themes with historical facts of WWII.

I don’t want to give too much of this book out, so my review will be short.

This story is set in two different times (modern-day set-in Chicago, and WWII Auschwitz), alternating throughout the book. This is done to give more insight on the character Mr. Mortimer and the terrors that he experienced while being experimented on in a concentration camp.

Dwight is a special needs child who is often bullied and abused by his own father and brother after the death of a beloved family member. Dwight likes to think of his ailments as superpowers.

Quite an intriguing tale of how these two characters find comfort in each other.

The plot was thoroughly thought out, giving you a dark thriller mixed with historical fiction, mixed with horrors, mixed with mythology, folklore (Romani, and Jewish).

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars! I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys dark, fast paced books. There are some triggers that may effect some including: Graphic Violence, Medical Procedures, The Holocaust, Racism, Child abuse, and Domestic Violence.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is a fast paced read that’s well written with some dark subject matter that’s sure to leave readers feeling uneasy.

Mixed with Romani & Jewish folklore, historical facts from WWll and a lot of creepiness this book packed a decent punch.

Taking place in present time as well as flashing back to the horrors of a concentration camp, Pattern does a fantastic job weaving past horrors with modern day consequences. I couldn’t stop myself from actually wanting to google more about Dr. Mengele after reading this and the horrible experiments he performed in those camps.

If you like a good, dark, horror read with some historical facts present you’ll definitely want to pick this book up!
