Funny, eye-opening and heartbreaking reflections on life as a junior doctor. Should be required reading for anyone who has ever used - or will ever use - the NHS.

Ļoti sirsnīga un ar lielisku humoru sarakstīta grāmata. Ļoti daudz ikdienu ainiņas, kuriozi un traģēdijas ārsta dienā, kas arī aprakstītas šajā grāmatā.

Really enjoyed this one. Funny while still making important commentary about the NHS which I didn’t know much about before this.

Adam Kay's diaries during his time as a junior doctor for the NHS.
Funny, informative, sobering, heartbreaking. Found myself bursting into laughter on one page, sighing and grimacing on the next. The entry about visiting his friend Ron's dad in the hospital was memorable: the dad's positivity in the face of illness.
The ungodly hours, severely underpaid and overworked staff, giving up hope of a decent work-life balance to save people's lives - I'm not sure I've ever truly appreciated the work that doctors do, the hours required of them, the immense pressure they must face, particularly those in fields that see people on the edges of life and death daily.
의사라고 다 돈을 잘 버는 건 아니라는 걸 다시 깨달음, plus 남들은 그렇게 열심히 사는데 난 대체 뭐하고 있지?
To be able to see/add humor in/to situations that would make the average person want to scream - what a gift that is. And to be able to put those experiences into words that can be enjoyed by everyone...
And just - what on earth are politicians thinking in decreasing funding for hospitals and medical staff? They're literally doing life-saving work. 생각이 없어도 그렇게 없을 수가 있나...
...
A quick and enjoyable read; glad for the chance to get a tiny glimpse into the life of doctors (in the UK).

LOVED THIS BOOK!! It was both darkly funny and very informative, parallelism the tragedy of the patients with the tragic life of being a doctor. I'd watched the series a couple years ago and now I'm re-watching in honour of finishing this book.
