It was not until the last three chapters that I discovered what this book was. It seemed mysterious and confused with the final chapters giving way to a dark clarity mirroring the characters Pascuals own progression. Incredibly affecting and pitch black, impossible to recommend.

Salvaje, cruda y visceral es esta obra que alcanza su punto álgido prácticamente al final mientras durante el camino se hace de rogar un honesto Pascual.

Por lo general el realismo ruralista no me gusta por ser tan agrio y bronco; pero la historia de Pascual, subjetiva y enfocada en lo siniestro, escatológica y truculento presta atención a sectores marginales, psicologías anormas, la enfermedad y la muerte. Es una obra tremenda que da una vuelca de tuerca al naturalismo.

Trágico, violento pero que atrapa. No hay mejor forma de disfrutar de los clásicos que cuando sale de uno mismo y no está siendo impuesto por una asignatura. Gran lectura.
