This was such a funny, sad, unexpected, original book. 'Kingdom of the Wicked' describes a children's author forced to return to the imaginary world of his youth, which is also the source of his inspiration.

But he finds it much changed, someone has brought war and death and famine to the land; someone who arrived soon after he left and looks just like him.

'Kingdom of the Wicked' was one of the first graphic novels (well, novella) that showed me what was possible with the form outside of superheroes.
