A good read but nothing earth-shattering.

Found the character a bit dense! I mean most adult females know that children go to school! First and foremost the foster agency should have directed her toward trying to find a stable moment and encouraged finding a school/ nursery! Plot was unrealistic in these term!
Annoying main character who took forever to come up with a decent plan from a flipping dog behaviour book!! Ummm not sure about contemplating another read.

"What do you do when you are a child's last hope?"

*Backstory*

I recently was looking for a new book to read, since I didn't have enough money or time to actually buy one. I chose this one because of the title. I like the newfound family trope, and this book was the one that I liked.

*Review*

There should be a saying the opposite of "don't judge a book by its cover". I loved the cover. The little girl in her fairy costume, which is Izzy, is really cute. The book itself through me off. I knew what I was signing up for, by reading the summary.. but I didn't expect her to fall in love with the EX-HUSBAND!! I also believe that the 6-year-old, Bellarina, was too wise for her age, but it makes sense because the story is placed in England.

*Recommendation*

I recommend this to people of the drama genre. Also, anyone who loves the newfound family trope.

*Age Rating*

I give this book a 13+. It does say that they hook up, but they don't give any details.

*Trigger Warnings*

Anyone who doesn't/like children; anyone who has lost a parent through an accident.

I really liked this book...until the last 100 pages. I hate when an ending ruins the whole story

Read it or a book club...Strange mix between Sex & the City and The Nanny Diaries with a totally predictable plot.

This was a cute, light and fluffy book. Usually British books are not my favorite, but I liked Sophie, the main character. It is an easy read and won't make you think too hard!

What do you do when in an instant your life is turned inside out?

That is the question Sophie Mills has to face when, on a regular work day she finds out that her best friend since childhood, Carrie, has died and she is left to take care of her two girls Bella & Izzy indefinitely. In an instant Sophie has to take leave of her job and figure out how to make a home, however temporary for these girls. Workaholic Sophie is certainly not up for the task. She and her best friend Carrie had not spoken for ages before her death and Sophie, loath to admit it as she may be, feels no connection to her godchildren. In fact the only connections Sophie does have is with her gay assistant Cal and her not-so-friendly cat Airtimis.

Now with very little help from a kindly but overworked social worker Tess, Sophie has to figure out how to keep up with her job, help these girls who have been ripped from the only life and parent they know, all the while trying to find the father that abandoned them years ago.

Despite the many typos, as other reviewers have pointed out `THE ACCIDENTAL MOTHER' is a heartwarming story that may be a bit predictable at times but will still satisfy the reader to the end.

An unexpected two kids landing practically on Sophie's doorstep was not the next step she had in her very career driven life. Surprised to be marked as legal guardian to the children of an old friend she had fallen out of touch with, Sophie is forced to look after them lest they go into care. And things get all the more complicated when the estranged father turns up...

This was okay. Pretty unrealistic - would they really send a social worker round to your place of work with two kids in tow and foist them onto someone with no idea what was going on? Maybe they would; maybe things really are that desperate. It was an okay read. Sophie was a pretty annoying character and the outcome was as saccharine as it was predictable. Still, it wasn't actively badly written. Okay.
