i did not vibe with the writing style and really did not look the flashbacks to the present day. i think this book would have been more interesting if it focused only on the apothecary

I didn't enjoy this as much as I thought I would. The characters felt a little bit flat to me and I didn't feel connected to them. I enjoyed some elements of the historical plot, but didn't really enjoy the plot of the present day timeline, it felt a little bit boring to me. The story was well rounded and had a full conclusion, which was good.

I really didn't like the pace or descriptions of the women and how dumb some of them acted. I didn't like how the main characters acted at all.

I tried another of the authors book, The London Seance Society. This one is a little better but not by much.
