I enjoyed this so much! From the sisterhood of revenge work to the cut throat world of academia and all of Brinkley’s wit and sass, it was awesome. Throw in the enemies-to-lovers romance between Mark and Brinkley and you’ve got a winner. I couldn’t put this book down and it constantly had me grinning from ear to ear.
Brinkley is a jaded struggling artist who works for Heartbreak for Hire. After a mishap on the job her life is turned upside down when Mark comes into the picture. Everything from her love life, to her job, to even her past life as an academic comes crashing together and she has to finally decide what she really wants to do with her life.
I loved just about everything about this book! The friendships were really great, especially her close friendship with Emma. The budding romance with Mark was fiery and deep. Their instant connection through Brinkley off her game and I liked that Mark was persistent. I was also really happy to see the mother-daughter relationship on the mend. This book had everything, it was deep and emotional enough to pull at heart strings, had a fiery and steamy romance and fun banter that kept it light. Overall great read! Would definitely read again and would easily recommend!

Easy read but the plot twist wasn’t expanded upon enough and wrapped up too quick
I really enjoyed this cute romcom! It reminded me of a reverse Hitch story, and it was so much fun. I loved the characters and the premise.

This is a zany enemies-to-lovers romance that I read during shot-recovery some weeks back. (Catching up on reviews now, along with the other mountain of work I was too flattened to deal with.)
It's one of those books you just have to let the crazy premise stand. It's not meant to be a Slice of Real Life (if you want a slice of real life among the cheaters, scumbags, egomaniacs, and other bottom-feeders, go read some Lilian Hellman), so many of the characters are kind of one dimensional.
Given that, the hijinks frequently had me cackling, and the banter between Brinkley and Mark was a lot of fun. They had intense chemistry right off the bat, and when Mark is brought into the Heartbreakers (women who get revenge on 100% sleazoids who totally deserve it) in order to serve the same sauce to sleazoid women, the crazy really gets going.
It ends rather abruptly, but it was a fun ride while it lasted. Perfect for that period when my brain was barely able to cope.

At times, between 3-4 stars | I must say I was pleasantly surprised by this, there wasn’t a lot of cringey moments and I actually liked the character development? I called some parts but that’s fine, I did skip over some smutty scenes because they were a little unrealistic but I totally devoured this in a day and a romance I’m more than happy to recommend!
