Aw. . . what a super cute book! I'm a sucker for graphic novels and this one doesn't disappoint. Telgemeier does a great job of depicting a) the "drama" of middle school and high school and b) the Bay area! Lots of people of color here. Also, I am committed to never having my teeth pulled or braces added. I'm sure this, too, was realistic but OW! I look forward to reading her other books.

I just love these books! There are very few things I would change. I love the artwork, it's not too crazy and the colors are fun! I can't wait to pick up the second one in the series.

Any child who has to go through major dental procedures (and the accompanying embarrassment) will appreciate this graphic novel. The story spans quite a few years, detailing the author's own experiences with broken teeth and braces. I loved the message about walking away from those who don't have your best interests at heart. Not always an easy to do, but crucial for one's happiness! :) Looking forward to reading the sequel!

it’s a cute graphic novel and a perfect one for a younger audience! i can relate to a lot of raina telgemeier’s graphic novels. they also helped me a lot when i was younger (especially sisters and guts). definitely recommend if you want a cute, relatable graphic novel!
