This book was not entirely what I was expecting. I was super excited to read this after reading Love and Gelato, and figured it would be the same cute love story. I was surprised that the love story was something completely different than I imagined. It is SO cute that it focused way more on sibling love and friendship love than actual romance! Definitely recommend trading this, it’s a such different story than you usually see (or at least in books with the name love in the title) and it’s take on how to get over heartbreak is really sweet!

I bought this book because I I really enjoyed love and gelato, plus I love love love Ireland so I was really excited to read this book, but was a bit disappointed. It had a lot of potential but when the title has love in it, my utterly hopeless romantic self was expecting a little more. I was waiting for something to happen between her and Rowan but it never did. It’s a nice little adventure, but not a love story like I expected.

A great book to start off the year!
Through an unforeseen series of events, Addie find herself travelling through Ireland with her brother & his online friend, along with a handy guidebook about healing your heart while in the Emerald Isle. I loved exploring Ireland with Addie & learning of her heartbreak— but not necessarily a “typical” heartbreak. I really like how this book focuses on a sibling relationship over a romantic relationship & how it goes about healing the broken bonds. It was a little slow in places & thinking back to what ACTUALLY happened in the book, it could have been 50-100 pages shorter.
I enjoyed this one overall & will definitely pick up the other “Love &…” books!

"Hearts break open until they stay open. It's what they were made to do. The pain? It's part of the deal. A small exchange for the wild, joyful mess you'll be handed in return."
This book was a lovable whirlwind of a story set in the Emerald Isle. I read Love & Gelato last month to test Jenna Evans Welch's writing and see if I liked it. I did this mainly because I didn't want to spend time on an author whose writing I didn't enjoy. But here we are: I gave Love & Gelato 4 stars, and I'm giving Love & Luck 5 stars. The way the story simply flowed - Addie's relationships, being in Ireland, character growth and development - had me hooked from beginning to end. And the ending was the emotional release that I needed just as much as the characters.
"Labels aren't big enough for people. And once you try to categorize someone, you stop looking for who they actually are."

I’m a sucker for a good sibling story. And yes, I did have to stop mid-cry to text my brother that I love him. This is less of a romance and more of a heartwarming YA novel. It would’ve been 5 stars easy without the obvious cliche.
