Cute, funny, sometimes emotional. And now I want to book a plane ticket to Istanbul.

An interesting book about minimalist travel with someone you barely know. It tackles relationships and mental health in an interesting way.

I am not sure I could travel with just one outfit, but the idea is very intriguing. I also love the travelling through Europe with no plans, just a direction to head in.

Definitely a book I would recommend.

I really enjoyed the protagonist and her traveling companion. They were interesting and fun and I loved the descriptions of her travels. My only main qualms were that the dialogue sounded way too idyllic (At one point there were 6 paragraphs of 3 characters all agreeing with each other) and that there was no conflict. Literally nothing went wrong. 2/3 of the way in I was actually hoping to find out that one of them died or that they had broken up or something because everything else was just going so great! But that didn't happen. It was a very happy beginning, middle and end.

Solid three stars of enjoyment!

This book was difficult to put down. Part travel diary, part mental health memoir, Bensen shares her struggle with anxiety and depression as she bounds out of her box by travelling for three weeks to Europe with (literally) no baggage, with a guy she'd met on OKCupid .

I loved both aspects of the book. The fact that they start in Istanbul brought back memories of my own trip to that fabulous city. But it is her honest look at the few years between finishing university and going on the trip, the years where she descended into a time of crisis, that is the core of the book.

To use her words, there is some kind of magic in her meeting Jeff, her travel companion and lover. He is an eccentric college professor, and possibly exactly who she needed to move on with her life, although she doubts this often as the tale unfolds.

This book is not for everyone, but it was a very enjoyable and compulsive read for me.

Fun, light read. Book candy! My favorite quote that hit me like a ton of bricks: "Just because you're lost, it doesn't mean you can't explore."

I was drawn to the idea of the book, and I did like hearin about the rather exceptional approach to travel. As a lover of pretty sentences, I did enjoy some of her over-worked poetic passages, but other times it meandered too far off moving the story along.
