Very cute and easy read! A second chance romance that is emotional but not super sad and heartbreaking like some.

My initial thought after finishing this book is “Why is it already over? Give me more. I need more!” I was so excited to read Blair and Denver’s story after the Easter eggs that were sprinkled throughout Seeing Red, and was not disappointed. Change of Hart is the third book in the Wells Ranch series, and most definitely my favorite so far. It exceeded every one of my expectations and I’d give it six stars if I could.

Blair and Denver’s story is everything a second chance romance should be with a push and pull and undeniable chemistry between the two, and I LOVE the childhood friends to lovers trope in this book. The spice was spicing and didn’t make me cringe while reading it. Every character is lovable and memorable, and the found family aspect always tugs on my heartstrings in the best way.

This book has a dual timeline, and for me, Bailey Hannah did a wonderful job with the flashback chapters, something that I think (and have previously experienced as a reader) is not always done so well. I liked how the flashbacks tied into what the characters were facing and feeling in the present, and it felt like I was experiencing their love and heartache with them rather than being told what was happening. I really enjoyed getting those glances into Blair and Denver’s friendship and relationship as kids, and then the fallout as they grew up and why they ultimately ended things.

No spoilers with this review, but I had my suspicions of why things ended between them and was ultimately proven right, and the way the author wrote it was so beautifully done. It’s a very real and relatable scenario, and it was handled with such care, especially the aftermath and how Blair and Denver coped with it all, both together and apart. One line that stuck with me from this book is “he and I are as inevitable as the passing of time,” and that couldn’t be any truer with these two and everything they’ve been through.

I can’t give enough praise for this book or for the author, and I could tell from reading it how much she has grown in her writing. Bailey Hannah has created such a romantic and fun universe with the guys and gals from Wells Canyon with realistic and relatable storylines that pull you in and make you feel every emotion the characters feel.

I can’t wait to read more from this author, and especially can’t wait for the next two books in this series!

To the surprise of no one, the second chance book is my favorite in this series 😜

No but honestly, the second chance in this book is my FAVORITE style of second chance. Blair and Denver were childhood sweethearts before things fell apart but they never truly got over each other. Change of Hart weaves chapters from modern day with chapters in the past beginning from when they first started to like each other as kids through the course of their relationship over the years. There are parallels between modern day with Blair's mom being sick and the past where Denver's mom gets diagnosed and eventually passes from cancer. Seeing the ways they learn and deal with so much of this trauma is incredibly powerful.

I always love seeing the way characters change but also stay the same. You can see so much of that residual love and passion between Blair and Denver throughout the book but there's also a lot of both of them having to get to know new things about each other. The way they adapt to each other's grown up selves but simultaneously know one another's souls is seamless.

This book is definitely a slow burn in contrast to Seeing Red and I thought that worked beautifully for Blair and Denver's story. We also get a lot of page time with characters from both of the last two books (especially Cass since she and Blair are besties). I loved getting to know the Wells family even more and while I'm obsessed with this book (and will probably re-read it 1,000 times) I am so ready for more of the fam in the next book!

This book has solidified that Wells' Ranch is incredibly special to me. I am so in love with the ranch, the town, and the entire cast of characters. Am I in my cowboy romance era?

Thank you Dell for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review!

Another trip to Wells Ranch in the books and I have fallen even more in love. Bailey, I adore you and these characters so much.

Denver and Blair were everything. Since they were kids, Denny has been so far gone for Blair and when he finally sees her again for the first time in years, he literally falls off a horse. From that moment on, he is determined to win her back and y’all, the yearning this man has for her is insane. These two had me swooning and their chemistry was off the charts. And the spice? It was perfect. I also loved the flashbacks, seeing them as kids growing up, being young and in love. They were woven in seamlessly and helped us understand how their pasts affected the present. Bailey also did a wonderful job at handling the sensitive and tough topics that Blair and Denny went through. This was such a beautifully done second chance that really had me feeling all the emotions (and reaching for my box of tissues).

I still can’t believe I was given the opportunity to read this. Thank you so so much to Random House / Dell for the arc 💕

Perfection. I love Blair and Denny so much! Truly Bailey’s best work to date. This has all the emotion, laughter, and, heart. This isn’t even the spiciest Wells Ranch book. Their story is perfectly crafted. The then/now timeline storytelling is done with care and thoughtfulness. And I am a slût for second chance romance! I will absolutely reread this story.
