A gory, road horror novel with a final girl trope. It was great on audio (easier to follow the storyline compared to this author's written work for me). The narrator had a monotone quality to her voice that I didn't particularly care for, but it didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the book.
There's a lot of trucker lingo that I found to be both immersive and hard to decipher, but it was nothing a little googling couldn't help. I think it's important to highlight there is a paranormal aspect here that is integral to the killer's character. Our final girl, Harper, is bad-ass although not without her own faults and bad ideas.
Highly recommend for readers of the horror genre, particularly if you like a paranormal serial killer and a strong female lead. Strong sense of place and an interesting insight into trucker life out on the road.

Killer on the Road: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (4.5)
So gruesome and gorey. A few scenes actually made me gag. I felt like there was no way things could get worse and they always did, but that kept me hooked and unable to put my kindle down. Bucketmouth is truly horrifying and every time I stop at a rest stop I will forever be paranoid I’m amongst cannibal shapeshifters.
The Babysitter Lives: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (4.5)
This story kept my head spinning and I always felt like I was just on the edge of figuring it all out and then the rules would change somehow. I’m still not sure if I fully understood what happened, but it was gripping nonetheless. From page one I was hooked and scared from the genuine nightmare fuel that this book is. It’s like a fever dream you can’t wake up from.

Harper is such a a fucking force and I loved her for the MC of killer on the road. Honestly loved the whole story and the turns it took. I'm not really a fan of eigh een wheelers but how they are mentioned in this it wasnt hard to imagine the trucks and open road could be home with how the characters. Overall great read. Of course gotta give it up for Charlotte too in the baby sitter lives. I 100% believe she's making it out.

Killer on the Road is a fun supernatural slasher. A good example of why you don't pick up hitch-hikers and why you shouldn't get in a strangers car.
The Babysitter Lives was very interesting. I just know I wouldn't have been as curious as the babysitter.
