I really loved this book. I mean it’s Tessa Bailey so I usually adore anything she writes but this might be my favorite of all her books. I loved how it combined my two favorite genres romance and mystery. It was well done and the spice was “chefs kisses 😘”. Great book definitely recommend you read it

As a big Tessa Bailey fan, I couldn’t wait to dig into another of her books. Don’t get me wrong, the comedic moments were great (Jude being prime example as the comedic character) and the spice! In my opinion, I think it needed holding off just a bit as there was no build up of the tension between the characters and with all the spice, the plot got lost in the background. This book is definitely insta-love but also insta-LUST.

This book moved very quick and so I felt like a lot could have been built upon but wasn’t. There were a few moments where I did cringe (looking at you chapter 4)!

I adored Jude and wanted even more - I wanted to know more about him and Dante and that whole situation. Both Myles and Taylor did annoy me at times and as it was so rushed, I didn’t connect with their relationship as well as I usually would. I got lust vibes and not so much romance until the last third of the book. I don’t mind insta-love but with this all happening over 5 days, it was TOO instant.

Overall, I think this book has a lot of potential, but think it just needed a little more attention to detail (quite a few grammar mistakes that made it a little harder to read) and time.

i don't know how to feel about this book tbh. it wasn't what i expected at all. i was all into the whole murder mystery thing and that's why i chose this book and i must say, i was really disappointed when 90% of the book was just the mmc and fmc flirting around, having (almost) sex and myles having his "i cannot have her, i'm not husband material, no strings attached / i want her so bad, my heart flutters when i see her, i want her to have my kids" inner monolog. i also didn't feel the chemistry between him and taylor in the beginning because it all just happened way too fast and was mostly about the sex and how gorgeous talyor's body is. i started to like the book more about halfway through and the epilogue was cute, too. one thing that particularly annoyed me: myles on the cover does not look like myles as described in the book and i hate that. what's with jude and dante? i would've liked more info on that! anyways, it was an okay read with great spice (very great spice) but definitely not one i'd read again or recommend to my friends with all my enthusiasm because the mystery part just wasn't enough for me.

I read this on vacation, that may have influenced why I enjoyed this one so much.

It’s an interesting premise, but ultimately, the characters felt more like caricatures than real people. It was an enjoyable read, but I found myself skimming parts because they were too cliche or insta-love. If you want a cute rom-com, it’s okay, but if you’re looking for mystery, that is definitely not its strength.
also what happens to Jude and the movie star??? Is this a spin off??? I need more information

June/July Pick for Blackberry Wine Bookclub

Discovering peep holes and a corpse in your beach rental is not an auspicious start to vacation. But a hot bounty hunter might be...

This is perfect for a funny quick read but don't expect anything groundbreaking. I didn't, so I had a good time! Characters are very stereotypical. We have the seemingly innocent heroine who ends up being better at solving the mystery than the local police and an aggressively masculine hero (scars, tats, well over six feet, only does hookups, turns up his nose at peach beer, etc.) who establish a co-investigators with benefits type of situation.
Many moments where they were getting intimate in public only to be interrupted by threat of death or at least injury. The murder wasn't too shocking or twisty either, just a bit of local politics taken too far. I think my favorite character was her brother, but he wasn't very fleshed out either. Spicy scenes were mostly good, I'm just not into the whole dominating and rough type of sex, so that wasn't for me.
