"Big spoons, little spoons, serving spoons, slotted spoons, plastic spoons-I think I'd like them all, so long as they involve James pressed against me."
James Graham. Another Graham brother has taken up residence in my heart. I loved the banter, the laughs, all the James and Winnie moments. James was so grumpy and grunt-y, rude and broody with a soft spot for a certain temp. He totally gave me "I hate everyone, but her (& my family)" vibes. Winnie is such a challenger. An enneagram 8 through and through. Fierce, loyal with boss girl vibes. She was such a constant for him. The romance was perfect. Just the right amount of tension and kisses. I was rooting for them, especially for James to face his long buried issues and lean into Winnie and his family. And I also adore the Graham family (please adopt me) and friendship dynamics going on in this series, it's one of my favorites.
what to expect:
• dual pov
• sweet, small town romcom
• grumpy, grunt-y boss
• workplace romance
• cute nicknames
• Winnie's seed
• only one bed
• groveling
• let me take care of you
• one sly cat dubbed as Orange Cyclops
• strong family/sibling dynamics
• 🌶/5 closed door all the swoony kisses and spooning
cw: grief, death of a parent, cheating, anxiety and social anxiety

I had so much FUN rereading The Bluff via audio! The narrators for both James and Winnie were so perfect, I enjoyed every minute of listening to their story play out.
Things I loved:
-The seed 😍
-Neighborly threads
-Chevy & “The Talk”
-The Graham family—just all of them
-Their texts
-“Great. Now I’m a smile murderer.”
-Flaming donkey turd
-Pleather
-Try, risk, lose.
-Question of the day
-The Tshirts
-Mental survival guide
-His favorite word
-Three-fourths of a compliment
-OC 🐈
-“Romance and cats. Who knew?”
-The perfect, imperfect proposal
-Bonus epilogue that makes me SO ready for Val & Chevy AGAIN ♥️
I give The Bluff all the stars. The banter, the immediate tension, the way they broke down each other’s walls, and how perfectly imperfect their journey together was—it’s all so good! And then obviously all the laughs, wit, Easter eggs to the previous books and so many tv shows & movies—it is grumpy/sunshine, romcom perfection.

I loved being back in Sheet Cake with the Grahams and getting to know James and Winnie more. There’s great banter and chemistry. The narrators are

Wow! How does it just keep getting better? I wish I could move to the fictional town of Sheet Cake! This family just keeps getting better. James is the most perfect grump and I love his push and pull with Winnie and the tough love he gives his family. Winnie and James’s denial was so well written, it created the perfect tension without being overly angsty. And their first kiss 😍😍!! I giggled so many times at the antics in this book, I got a lot of confused looks from my husband. I especially loved James and his relationship with his brothers. The Graham family and the people of Sheet Cake are the best!! Can’t wait to read the next in the series, The Pocket Pair!
