I have never heard of John Constantine and completely picked this up on vibes, so that is the perspective I am coming from <3

This was cute!!! and the art style is KILLER. Oh my GOSH. The presentation? The different pages organized around a location or an emotion or a symbolic item??? That's so insanely COOL???

Constantine and his friends' outfits are truly the heroes of this book. Every single outfit had me staring. They are all so punk and inventive and fun!! Again, my favorite part of the graphic novel.

The art is so great that it really, really elevates the experience. The story... was really strong for the first half! I was invested. Then they introduce the love interest who has very little character shown (she wants to learn magic... she's stern? she has parental issues?) and I just can't keep my interest up man. Veronica was my favorite, the best friend. Not that she should've dated Constantine, I think their relationship was great how it was, but she's just an example of a much stronger side character in the same story - very headstrong, we can see her personality clearly through her outfit, super relaxed. We really get a sense of that! But not so much Luna whose name I barely remembered.

Constantine is super cute though and definitely part of why I am ranking this so high. His emotions really come through, and he made me laugh multiple times. And the part with his dad at the and??? My heart broke.
SpoilerBoth the dad and the stepdad part. I believe in you Constantine!! be better than your biological father!! & shout out to his stepdad the real g. I always tear up when we have a good dad probably because mine wasn't there for me much either
Anyways, Constantine's aesthetic is too powerful and I would be doing him a disservice if I rated him and his vibes any lower <3 I don't know anything about the character he's based off of so I just think he is cool and neat and I would like to protect him even if he is a little stink

This was FANTASTIC. I love how it’s tying into some of the other DC graphics. I NEED a sequel!

I love John Constantine, but this just missed it a bit for me. It was predictable. I liked seeing a side of him that's punk though. Interesting take on his love life too.

In my opinion this is a pretty ok book, the art is a little up and down with the characters reminding me of movie star planet at times, Idk if it was my copy but the art seemed doubled up on some pages so the text was incredibly hard to read. The story was ok, playing it pretty safe tho, the romance part was enjoyable and seeing his relationships grow was fun, the magic part was also ok but in general a lot seemed rushed at part, if there comes a book 2 I'll read it tho

The world this took place was odd, everyone was openly talking about magic and doing magic but then it was treated like a secret. The characters were a bit dense and generic. The artwork was fun.
I wouldn't read it again.
