I truly enjoyed this collection of 14 poets with ties to South Dakota. I know one of the poets well, have been to a reading by and read 3 books by another, read a chapbook by one, and met one recently at a retirement party where he recited the first poem in the book for the honoree. I have also heard of one or perhaps two others.

The voices are diverse and despite the subtitle (Contemporary South Dakota Poetry) not all of the poems are related to South Dakota. Even those that are are usually not explicitly so.

I read the library's copy but will be getting one of my own.
