Big Pumpkin was a cute story with some cute characters. It wasn't my favorite, but I still enjoyed it.

I remember getting this book from one of our Scholastic Book Fairs when I was in school. It always brings lovely memories of those times when one of the best parts of school was when the Book Fair would arrive. I knew I was a bookworm for SURE then.

Love that after everything, the end result is PIE!

Went to Barnes and Noble recently and bought this for my classroom. I think I had it a long time ago but lost it along the way. It's such a cute story and has great illustrations! I think I'm going to use it for a sequencing activity. Definitely one of my favorite children's books,

Big Pumpkin by Erica Silverman, illustrated by S.D. Schindler is another of my all time favorite halloween reads from my childhood!

When I heard that there was also a sung version of the book, I just had to give it a reread and a listen!

The book was just as lovely as I remembered! The storyline is so simple, but so exciting! I remember being so nervous that they weren't going to be able to get the pumpkin off the vine.

I really love the artwork! I remember the page with the ghost trying to detach the pumpkin the most! That must have been my favorite character as a kid.

Listening to the song was so much fun! The story was just perfect to be sung! I loved that each character had a voice of it's own. And let me tell you... this song will most definitely be stuck in my head!

My only gripe was that the noise to turn the page was quite alarming! If this was ever redone, something less intense, like a witch's cackle or a meow or something would be a very welcomed addition.

I definitely recommend pairing the book with the song or so you can see the illustrations! This was so much fun!

I work in a preschool, and this book is a hit with the kids there. We have an audio cassette that goes along with the book, and the kids practically have it memorized.

This is a great (non-scary) Halloween story that shows the benefits of cooperation and helping out your friends.

A charming and funny story.
