This was definitely a fun read and I was hooked. Throughout the book I had so many guesses as to what could’ve really happened. I assumed Tim did it especially after we found out he wore sandalwood aftershave, I thought maybe Shane and Tim planned it together, I even theorized maybe it could’ve been Marcus. The reveal and motive behind it however was something I never would’ve thought of. I’m not mad at it necessarily but wow. Also, I had a feeling Shane’s end was what it was but that pov at the end?! And it’s crazy how similar Shane and Josh really were just off of the lines between Margie and Josh. Margie saying, “He would do anything for his mother. Anything” in reference to Shane. And then at the end of the book with Josh saying, “After all, I would do anything for my mom.”

I really liked this book but in the second half Brooke was not making smart decisions and that annoyed me a bit. It was a great and very engaging even when I didn’t agree with her decisions I was there for the story, and the epilogue is so good!

Frieda McFadden’s books are like popcorn - addictive and devoured quickly - even if a little light on character development. And there are always twist you won’t see coming.
This book is a solid addition to the authors catalog. I wasn’t a huge fan of the final twist, but I can see how it works in the story.

interesting premise with okay writing (sometimes cringey but kinda works??) def didn’t see the main plot twist (but I did guess the twist in the epilogue so someone give me a star)
Oh my god… what a journey I went on this afternoon. Like miss ma’am is so dumb in the best way. We love Josh in this house he was a true ride or die at the end. I maybe would’ve (definitely would’ve) made some different choices but I digress. 10/10 would recommend
