Once again, I am dumbfounded by the complete lack of self-preservation of a Freida McFadden FMC. Red flags everywhere, ignored completely. That said, the book was decent, but something did feel off throughout. I can't really explain it. I think I just didn't like the FMC. Which is fine, I don't think you connect with every single main character you read. But I just genuinely didn't enjoy her antics and her personality. When things seemed like they were escalating, she was entirely too chill about it for me personally, and it just felt? Out of touch? I'm not entirely sure. That said, I finished this book in one night and couldn't put it down, SO THERE'S THAT.
