*SPOILERS*

I think I would’ve enjoyed it more had I not figured out that Daisy was already dead within the first few chapters. Because of this, every time she “spoke” to another character and they blatantly ignored her throughout the entire book I just reaffirmed with what I already knew and felt ready for the story to move on.

I did love the And Then There Were None vibe (and thought it was fun when it was referenced at the end!). For me it needed more dialogue, literally. I will also say that it did keep me wondering about who the real killer was until the very end.

TLDR: not my favorite Alice Feeney this time around.

A locked-room mystery set in a sprawling estate on secluded black sand shores, separated from the mainland by the highs and lows of the tides… Did I mention the tension and suspense ticks by in a terrifying countdown to Halloween?!

For mystery lovers, this is a perfect reading companion for this spookiest time of year. I dare not say too much, for there are twists and turns that await your arrival. Light a candle, sip a hot cider, and nestle down under a cozy flannel or fleece and enjoy a most murderous All Hallow’s Eve…

This is not like previous Alice Feeney books. Definitely not a typical thriller, but I loved the spooky, cozy Agatha Christie vibes!
