I freaking loved it ! 🤩🤩 It was my first zombie read and it delivered! The characters, the gore, the details, the zombies! I am in awe that it captured me the way it did.

Yes, there were a lot of characters but it wasn't overwhelming. Tony did a great job weaving them all back together! I was so interested in Wim, Aben, Ramey, And ...🤔..... (Damn forgot his name) 🤣. The dad and Josiah.. the gangsters... EVERY SINGLE ONE! They were all so different I didn't run into the same character at any turn.

Each has their own back story that had me sitting at the edge of the cliff watching them run around in my mind.

Tony made it real, I was running from zombies, jumping into cars with the keys already in the ignition.  (lucky them, that's the only flaw I saw...) crafting weapons! I swear I was hanging on to every word. There were times I sat the book down to replay the scene

Nice! I can't wait to read the next one. See how they all progress through this mess.

This was a good zombie read with a LOT of characters.
The zombies were fast moving at certain times.
I can kind of see how it's going to shape up in the next few books. At least I think I can.
The writing is good and the characters are fleshed out enough to care.

This has the makings of a really good book however I think there were just too many characters added in the first book and due to this it got confusing and you felt a bit lost at times. I like Wim and Ramey and can't wait to see where things go from here in regards to their survival and see how the other 10 character develop and if they intertwine with Wim and Ramey.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

First time with this genre so not sure what to expect but the book was clearly written for a series. Basically the whole book was character driven while a zombie break out occurred.  I thought the book was good but really dislike that it wasn't really a stand alone book in a series.  But then again this is new to me so maybe this is how it is supposed to be and I just need to get use to it.  I do think it was done well and I enjoyed it but I just hated the ending as it just stopped.  I will def. be reading the next book in the series to see how this kind of series works and I do want to see how some of the characters handle themselves now that the development of them is over.  I have a feel book 2 will have a better rating.
