Finally finished the last Goosebump I own. This one was cute, as most of them are, but irritating with some of the exclamation marks and silliness. What worked was I liked the main character well enough, the transformation into different animals and the humor of that. I do wonder did all the bodies die when he left the host though, like with the cat? There's a typical Stine humor twist at the end. I'd think the kids may end up going to prison now, so not sure how they explained everything, but I'm looking too hard into it...

so you’re telling me the power of dance kills ghouls? dope

This book was fine. I didn't like the plot a lot. Spencer kept yelling 'nooooo' (that isn't a spoiler). I had mixed feelings about this book. I found a couple of plotholes:

when Spencer goes back to the graveyard to find Audra, she doesn't know how to enter the dog's body and Spencer had to teach her that. Towards the end of the book, when the real Spencer and Audra are being chased by the ghouls in their bodies, how does Jason know how to get into his own body? (Which Spencer was using at the time). If Audra had no idea how to get into someone's body because she'd never been a ghoul before, how did Jason know how to do that? Also, the ghoul in Spencer's body is shown to have completely black eyes with nothing white in them. When Oswald and Martin are wreaking havoc in Spencer's house, how do Spencer's parents not believe him that the two are ghouls? Can't they see for themselves that they have weird completely black eyes?
Another MAJOR plothole. In the end, the main antagonists are defeated because Spencer dances, and dancing is the liveliest thing to do to defeat the dead. But in the scene in the graveyard when Oswald manse had taken over Spencer's body and Spencer has become a graveyard ghoul, he watches the other ghouls of the graveyard dance. So the ghouls can dance (doing the liveliest thing) and not die but if a ghoul watches someone dance, he dies? Doesn't quite make sense.
There are still a few things I liked about this book, though. The beginning was quite strong, and I was genuinely excited when Spencer's teacher said towards the end of chapter 1 that she would take the students to the graveyard to summon the ghouls. The chapter where Spencer and Audra are tracing the names, dates on the gravestones was pretty interesting too. That scene had a dark, gloomy feel to it, a feeling that kind of hinted to you that a storm was coming. But when Spencer and Audra met up to go fetch Jason's bag, things started going downhill. If I believed in ghouls, and so did most of the town so I know it's not that likely it'll be a story, I wouldn't go to the graveyard at night. Even if that meant getting beaten up or scolded by my parents and my brother for leaving his bag there. So that was pretty unrealistic. For me, this book is hanging between 2 stars (bad) and 3 stars (ok). And considering the number of weird unexplained plot holes and things I disliked about this book, it would've gotten a 1 star rating if it were not for the first 2-3 chapters. Also, the idea of getting into someone's body so you feel like them, act like them, and eat what they eat was pretty interesting to me. Stine did that well enough. The ending felt quite rushed and was also kinda deus ex machina. I was pretty disappointed with this book, and wanted to enjoy it a lot more than I did
