Falling For Gage is part of the Archer’s Voice world and everything I could have wanted! Gage ends up meeting Rory at her family’s bar when he has car trouble. They end up having a one night stand and never expected to see each other again. Gage is surprised to see Rory in his home town when she goes there looking for her birth father.
I loved Rory and Gage so much! Even though they got on my nerves a little I still wouldn’t change anything about them! They had such a connection from their first meeting that lasted throughout the whole book.
I listened to the audiobook while annotating the paperback and Maeve York and Benjamin Sands really brought these characters to life for me. They both did an amazing job and I couldn’t see this story playing out in my head as I listened.

I was unsure about this one at first, just bc I didn't feel like Gage was important enough to get his own story? But I will be honest, I LOVED the full circle and found family moment in this one! I was definitely shedding a tear at the end and loved seeing everyone come back in the picture. It was fun heading back to the world of Pelion lake one last time

There were a lot of elements I enjoyed about the story, including Rory’s supportive uncles, who made me quickly fall in love with them all. The forbidden love aspect as it was a nice change from a lot of what I’ve been reading lately. There were humour and heart melting moments, but also an underlying situation that needed to be solved in a part of the book, which was both cringey and hilarious at the same time. Additionally, there was also a scene that involved racoons that hit me right at the core.
The dual narration by Maeve and Benjamin were done well and both did a great job making a distinction between character voices.
Moderate: Sexual content
Minor: Animal death, Cursing, Death of parent, Classism

Mia Sheridan’s newest book, and OMG I WAS SO EXCITED! If you’ve read, “Archer’s Voice” and “Travis”, you’ll remember meeting the handsome and kind, Gage Buchanan. Similar to Travis, Gage was known as a bachelor, but was more than ready to settle down, and find that special someone like he’d seen others. Aurora “Rory” went about her days working at her uncle’s bar, but couldn’t help feeling like there was something missing in her life, like she felt this pull from somewhere she didn’t know how to put into words exactly. Rory and Gage were from different worlds, but when a steamy one night stand happened between them, they couldn’t stop thinking about each other. Once again, Mia Sheridan brought back the small town vibes with new characters mixed in with some familiar ones, and highlighting the journey that both Gage and Rory found themselves on.

Gage and Rory had different upbringings, and were from different places, but that didn’t stop them from forming a connection within a night they shared. Gage was no stranger to having people fall head over heels for him, but when he met Rory, she was the first person who didn’t fawn over him. I liked how Rory was independent, and had a sassy side to her that played into her back and forth playing around with Gage. I think it was safe to say that from the moment Gage and Rory met, they not only liked each other, but also couldn’t help feeling a sense of rightness between them.
With Rory on the hunt to find out more about who her father was, it brought her to the last place she ever expected which was, Calliope, the town where Gage lived. Not going to lie, I thought it was kind of funny and iconic how just as Gage and Rory were trying to move past their one night together, they then found themselves in the same place, but for different reasons. Also, the fact that Gage literally ran after Rory multiple times which resulted in some not so great moments for Gage, but were kind of funny.
In the previous books where Gage was mentioned, it seemed like he lived a perfect life of wealth and education, but there was more to him. As the story progressed and Rory spent more time with Gage, she was able to uncover more about the golden son of Calliope. I always assumed that Gage’s life was how he wanted it to be, but based on the things he told Rory, and how he lived his life day to day, it became more increasingly clear that Gage lived his life according to the approval of his family. In a way, Gage was relatable in the way he sought to make his family proud, but it also seemed like he had his life planned out before him that would fit the mold of “perfection”. Even when certain people made remarks about Gage and how he was, presentable, and well mannered, Gage often felt like he was growing restless with the way aspects of his life were going. The thing I liked about Gage most was seeing all the layers that there were to him. Gage was more than the image he maintained in front of all of Calliope, there was more to him from his incredible cooking skills to the way he found utter enjoyment in other things that he himself liked a lot.
Little by little, seeing how Rory and Gage’s lives changed when meeting each other was lovely and refreshing. While there wasn’t a big plot line, the story did cover more on Rory and Gage discovering what they looking for in their own lives. I liked the way the story evolved from just a woman and a man meeting to a tiny bit of mystery that Rory and Gage found themselves trying to solve. Also, seeing my favorite people such as, ARCHER AND BREE, to Travis and Haven was such an amazing thing to include, but even better was seeing how those characters embraced Rory as one of their own. When it came to finding out who Rory’s father was, I was trying to come up with theories of my own, but my goodness Mia Sheridan did a fantastic job of revealing Rory’s parentage. Towards the end of the story, when the truth behind Rory’s mom and dad came out, I was SHOOK, but in the best possible way that left me a bit emotional. Both, Rory and Gage found themselves wondering what they wanted in their lives, but ultimately discovered that what they always wanted was there all along. I really enjoyed the ending of this book as it was beautiful, sentimental, and obviously ended on a very happy note especially with that lovely scene in the epilogue. Gage wasn’t necessarily a character that I would have thought about having his own book, but I’m actually he did get his own book as it really illustrated his growth in stepping out of the “perfect” mold he found himself in. Rory was an animal lover, and to see how her life turned up was satisfying and again heartwarming. Always a great time reading anything by Mia Sheridan.
