What drew me in this book was "Why is the toddler who watched her mother's murder alive?" It's only one little question which is almost nothing important but it was enough to sharpen my curiosity.

Well, this book created many contradictory feelings in me. It is interesting, captivating and intriguing but it's also predictable.

During all long the book, the detectives discover many different clues and they put the reader thinking about them and wondering "Why was it that way?" That way the story moves on and becomes captivating.
There are 3 suspects with enough clues to incriminate them but, for me, it was predictable in who's the murderer, however there are many surprises around that question and their personal relationships.

I have to praise the construction of the characters and their personalities because I think was done a great job by building those solid human characters, with their qualities and defects. On the other hand, Nick Ingram is too heroic and has some crime fiction detectives' clichés.

Another negative aspect is that, despite there are small advances, during the majority of the beginning of the book is like looking to a regular white wall.

Neither being a bad book nor an excellent one, I let you the decision to read or not The Breaker.
