Such a fun, exciting read with second chances, learning to work together, and finding a way back to each other. Rylee and Roberto have a history as they were falling for each other things went sideways and tore them apart. Years later with hate still in their hearts they are forced back together to help Gabby (Rylee’s friend and Roberto’s sister). This book takes us on some fun and crazy adventures while teaching us to take the time to look around, enjoy life, and those around you. I loved the characters, adventures, and the love that they find. At times Rylee could be a tad too much with her judgmental ways but the way Roberto showed her to slow down and enjoy life was beautiful.

This is my first read by Mel Walker, I was pleasantly surprised! I'm really impressed with Mel Walker's writing technique! The title intrigued me, and after reading The Amazing Date's blurb I was so curious to read it! It's definitely a fun adventurous read and a great storyline. I immensely enjoyed how the plot unravelled; I was pulled into the story from the first couple of chapters. The Amazing Date is a standalone, enemies to lovers and best friend's brother romance.  Navigated from Rylee (heroine) and Roberto's (hero) perspective, Rylee and Roberto have a complicated history; an incident that caused them to fall out, resulting to ending their blossoming relationship.  Over years, they tried to be civil with each other (but failed miserably) simply because of Gabby, Roberto's sister and Rylee's best-friend. You can probably guess from the title, The Amazing Date's storyline is based on a competition/race (a bit similar to The Amazing Race). Anyway, I don't want to give too many spoilers away, but basically Rylee and Gabby are partners and they were going to compete in a competition. However, in the last minute, Gabby had to pull out of the competition and Roberto is now Rylee's partner.

Two people who can't stand to be around each other are now stuck together for a long period of time. There's a lot of unresolved feelings and issues between them. They may seem to hate each other, but the chemistry they once had is slowly igniting into a flame, bring it back to life. Rylee is a planner; she lives accordingly to her checklists, it's her safe haven. She's definitely a great character! She's driven, ambitious and smart. And Roberto is the complete opposite of her; he lives in the moment, he doesn't plan anything ahead. I love their relationship dynamics! They most certainly balance each other out; they sure do make a great duo. And their banter! There were moments where they started to get along with each other, but something would occur and they land themselves back in square one. They would clash and their views of the competition, and life in general is different from each other. Rylee is solely focused on winning the competition, and Roberto of course wants to win, but he rather enjoy the experience. As they competed each race/game, Rylee and Roberto cannot deny the sizzling chemistry between them. I loved how Roberto brought out Rylee's reckless, carefree and creative side. Both of their characters developed outstandingly. The races and the last few chapters were my highlights! Overall, it's a great read! I highly recommend it if you are a fan of lovers- to-enemies-to-lovers or second chance romances. I'm looking forward to reading more work by Mel Walker in the near future.

This is the first book I've read by the author. I wasn't sure what to expect at first but I really enjoyed it. I loved Rylee and Roberto's story. I was so into their story. I finished reading in just a few hours. It was an entertaining, fun, and enjoyable second chance with lots of interesting scenes and chemistry.
