Nice book. Liked the plot twists and the way story progressed: it’s like I’ve been changing who I’m sided with throughout the story.
I just wish it was faster at the beginning, the first 200 pages were exhausting to read and I couldn’t wait for the story to climax. Also didn’t really understand the purpose of adding
private investigator
it gave a lot of information much needed for a plot twist but eventually led to nothing and ended abruptly.
Overall good thriller, would recommend.

The book really has you going, thinking you figured it out but NOPE, gives you twist and then another.
Loved that way its written, from multiple different views.
You never know who to trust.
Great read!

<spoiler >

*sigh*

Was I supposed to like anyone in this book?

Except for Bob. I love Bob.

But other than that, everyone was terrible.

Amelia's and Adam's marriage is rocky and in an attempt to save it they go on a weekend to an isolated place in the Scottish highlands. But once they arrive at their destination doubts creep in and soon they start to question each other. How well do they really know their partner?

This was a really good thriller with a twist I didn't see coming! Adam works as a screenwriter and often get absorbed in his job. This plays a big part in the plot, as well as Adam's face blindness. More than that I don't want to reveal. 😉

Amelia and Adam exchange chapters, which allow us to get both point of views on the story. Eventually there's a third voice added, Robin. It makes you wonder what part she plays in all of this, and how she's related to the couple. A very nice setup!

There's a reason I don't give the book five stars, but to reveal that would be a huge spoiler, so I won't. Still recommend this book highly for those who enjoy psychological thrillers that evoke feelings of discomfort! This was my first Alice Feeney read, but probably not the last!

     This was a huge disappointment. I really thought I would like this one.  I had heard so many good things about this book going into it, and maybe that is my downfall.

     I thought the letters were interesting, watching their lives fall apart you could say. I didn't really care about the present time in the chapel. I didn't think the story was scary or thrilling in anyway. The plot twist was interesting, but that just it. I didn't want a book that was just interesting. I wanted a thriller that made me sit on the edge of my seat. I wanted a book that I couldn't put down. This book wasn't that.

     I didn't guess the plot twist at the end, but I didn't really care. I wasn't invested in the story. I just felt like this book was such a flop.
