This is a great piece of storytelling. From the start, I was intrigued by the family issues, and I loved the descriptions of all the hoarded items and the stories behind them. Slowly, without being obvious about it, suspense was being built and I couldn't put the book down, wanting to know where the mysteries would lead us.
I really loved what was behind it all and the entirety of the clever build-up - but I didn't like how the ending made me feel.
I suppose, having acquired this ebook in a bundle called "Glitter and Hope", I was expecting a happy, hopeful ending. Instead, Persephone ends up in the hands of yet another manipulator, and apparently happily ignores this. As a writer, I do admire all the questions that this ending raised, and the way this dove into the theme of human manipulation was excellent. But as a reader, I didn't find this entirely satisfying, even if I had so thoroughly enjoyed the read before that point.
I really loved what was behind it all and the entirety of the clever build-up - but I didn't like how the ending made me feel.
