This was a fascinating book. Reading about the main character's steady yet fully self-aware descent into a depressive and suicidal spiral is relatable to anyone who has had similar experiences. It's also good to get a better grasp of the real genius of the writing, outside of the pop culture references that don't tell the whole story.

Interesting insight into the head of a young American lady in the 1950s. The change from 'healthy' to 'sick' mind is not clear, which makes the story a bit confusing. I am not sure if the first part of the book is that important, it could be shortened or amended to focus on more important things.
